Welcome to Bloometry
a color management tool that allows you to create color harmonies, extract color palettes from photos and transform colors between various color spaces.
- Color schemes and harmonies: find analogous, complementary, compound colors etc.
- Picture processing: extract primary colors from an image, define how many colors you want to extract or which filter to use.
- Palettes management: export and share palettes in various file formats (Adobe ACO, Adobe ASE, CorelDRAW, CSS, Gimp).
- Color transformations: RGB, HSB, Lab, LCH, XYZ, CMYK models with appropriate color spaces.
- Actual ICC-profiles and transformations for CMYK colors.
Philosophy
Bloometry is built upon my own Scol color library. To write this library I dived deeper in color theory, so it could provide a functionality that would be more science-based. As you may notice, there is no some abstract conception of RGB, CMYK or Lab color in Bloometry which you may find in other color conversion apps and services. On the contrary, Bloometry clearly tells you that RGB, or CMYK, or Lab itself are just models, just numbers which mean nothing apart from the actual color space. That's why next to the model picker you find a picker inviting you to choose a space.
Color conversion mechanics are based on works of Bruce Lindbloom.
ICC transformations are handled by awesome Little CMS color engine which is included as a sub module of Scol. Currently Bloometry supports only a fixed range of bundled ICC profiles but it's planned to allow users to load their own profiles.
Color extractor functionality implemented with machine learning algorithms provided by Accord.NET Machine Learning Framework.
Actually my head is full of ideas that I want to implement in Bloometry, so be sure it's functionality will be further expanded.
